I had the same problem when I installed Yosemite but I was able to install the legacy java fix (Java for OS X 2014-001) from Apple's website. When I try installing that same java fix I get the following Error: Java for OS X can't be installed on this disk. A newer version of this package is already installed. I didn't want to install the legacy Java 6 or manually mess with configuration files so this was the best solution, even though I don't intend to develop in Java either. – Ariel Apr 2 '15 at 9:12.
